Edgartown School has announced the honor roll for the first quarter of the 2010-2011 academic year.

Announcing Ian

Sandra and Daniel Phillips of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a son, Ian Anton Phillips, born on Dec. 22, 2010, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Ian weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces at birth. He is welcomed by his brother, Wylie, and sister, Chloe.

Announcing Leland 4th

Kelly O’Connell and Leland N. Sylva 3rd of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a son, Leland N. Sylva 4th, born on Dec. 29, 2010, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Leland weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces at birth.

Nelson Mechanical Design Inc. of Vineyard Haven was recently selected 2010 Contractor of the Year in a national survey by the Penton Media Group, a publishing firm that serves 50,000 mechanical contractors across the United States. Penton publishes Contractor Magazine, Green Mechanical Contractor, Radiant Living, and Heating, Plumbing and Air Conditioning Engineering.

Laiza Alves and James Cimeno of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Leah Colby Cimeno, born on Dec. 26, 2010, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Leah weighed 8 pounds at birth.

Now that the holidays are “almost” over and we can all sit back and relax a bit, won’t you please give some serious thought to taking one or two of our beautiful animals into your home? I guess Santa was so busy giving toys to all the good little children around the world and around our little Island that he just didn’t have time to find homes for the animals at the shelter.
