Student Honors
Julia S. MacNelly of West Tisbury, a member of the class of 2009 at Phillips Academy in Andover, has been named to the honor roll at the school for the winter term. Phillips Academy, better known as Andover, is known for its extensive and rigorous academic program.
Athlete Chosen
Genevieve Flanders, daughter of Joyanne and Steven Flanders of Chilmark, has been selected to compete for the Hamilton College women’s outdoor track and field team for the 2008 season.
A junior majoring in neuroscience at Hamilton, Flanders is a graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

Talita Destefani Silva and Wesley Destefani Silva of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a daughter, Ashley Rose Destefani Silva, born on May 17 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Ashley weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces at birth.
Hello, Teagan
Kimberly and Jack D’Arcy of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Teagan Drew D’Arcy, born on May 15 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Teagan weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces at birth.
Adriana Arrives
Trena Morrison and Colin Young of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Adriana Ceara Young, born April 26 at Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Adriana weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces at birth.
Semester Abroad
Sarah Greenberg of West Tisbury participated in the Washington Semester Abroad at American University. Ms. Greenberg, a student at Tufts University, took part in the American politics program.
The program offers undergraduate students from throughout the United States and the world an opportunity to come to the nation’s capital to study government through first-hand experience and contact with political, business and community leaders.
