Public Safety Day

Public Safety Day, a family event sponsored by the Oak Bluffs police department, is set for Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will be held at the Dennis Alley Park (formerly Waban Park) on Sea View avenue. Event participants will include the Oak Bluffs police and fire departments and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Hello, Aquinnah

Kendra and Will Adams of Studio City, Calif., announce the birth of Aquinnah Abigail Adams on May 30. Quinn is the great-granddaughter and 17th great-grandchild of Helen Jackson of Edgartown. Her grandparents are Marilyn and Bill Adams of Quincy and Gail and Peter Raynsford of McConnelsville, N.Y. Quinn plans to visit the Vineyard in August.

Vineyard Seniors Graduate

From Falmouth Academy

Four students from the Vineyard are graduating in the class of 2008 at Falmouth Academy.

They are Regina Maree Antolick, the daughter of Tom and Marie Antolick of Edgartown; Melora Marie Giles Armstead, the daughter of Kenneth Armstead and Lorna Giles of Edgartown, Christian Meigs Cabral, the son of Doug and Molly Cabral of Chilmark; and Zuzana Sottova, who is from Bardejov, Slovakia, and has lived this year with the Mark and Kim Baumhofer family in Vineyard Haven.

The Mature Workers Program of Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands Inc. has openings in its Bridge Back to Work program for income-eligible people 55 and older. Announcing Victor

Paul W. Schultz, husband of the late Margaret Carroll Schultz, announces the arrival of a grandson, Victor Lacy Weston Bird. He was born to Paul’s daughter and son-in-law, Alexandra and Ryan Bird of Renton, Wash., on April 24 at Overlake Hospital in Belleuve, Wash. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce. Alexandra is a 1993 graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Her husband is stationed with the Coast Guard in Seattle, Wash.

Hello, Kayden

Heather Ferreira and Keigh Devine of Aquinnah announce the birth of a son, Kayden Keith Devine, on May 27 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Kayden weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces at birth. He is also welcomed by his sister, Jasmine Devine.
