Hello, Lila
Louisa and Seamus O’Brien of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Lila Louise O’Brien, born on May 24 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Lila, who weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces at birth, is joining big brother Connor.
Welcome Isabella
Robyn and Simon Bollin of West Tisbury announce the birth of a daughter, Isabella Charlotte Bollin, on May 21 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Isabella weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces at birth.
Hello, Molly
Tom and Joyce Dresser of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a new granddaughter, Molly Rose Held, born on April 30 at Kaiser-Permanente Hospital in Culver City, Calif. She is the daughter of Amy and Brian Held, and weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces at birth. The baby and parents are doing well and plan a summer visit to the Vineyard.
Health Fair
Health for Life, the Edgartown School Health Fair, is scheduled in the main lobby and cafeteria of the school on Monday, June 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. Information will be available on childhood diabetes, yoga, bike safety, healthy foods and more.
Shirley Donaroma Honored
Edgartown National Bank recently honored Shirley Donaroma for achieving 25 years as an employee of the bank. Ms. Donaroma began working for Edgartown National as a teller in 1982. She went on to work for many years as a customer service representative. At present, she is an operations specialist. She is a lifelong resident of Edgartown, where she raised her two children and now is a grandmother.
The board of trustees at Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank has promoted Paul Ryan of Vineyard Haven to the position of vice president and Sarah Mayhew Shipway of Chilmark to the position of senior trust officer.
Mr. Ryan relocated to the Island in 1988 when he became senior trust officer at Martha’s Vineyard National Bank, and joined Dukes County Savings Bank (now incorporated into the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank along with Martha’s Vineyard Co-operative Bank) in 1991 when that institution initiated its trust operations.
