College Bound
Harry J. Cipolla, son of Mr. James Cipolla of Oak Bluffs, began his first year at Saint Michael’s College in September. Mr. Cipolla graduated from Cohasset Junior Senior High School before coming to Saint Michael’s, which is located in Burlington, Vt.

The nine little kittens that were born at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard a few weeks ago will be ready to find homes on Oct. 27, so if you would like a kitten, come early on that day and pick your kitten. Some of them, have double paws. The shelter opens at 8:30 a.m.
Super Librarian
Sandra J, Mott, librarian at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, has been awarded the Massachusetts Super-Librarian accolade from the Massachusetts School Library Association.
Representing the Southeast Region, she is one of four librarians statewide to be honored for leadership and innovation in school libraries at all grade levels. The award was presented at the association’s annual conference at Sturbridge on Oct. 3.
Alana Arrives
Lea and Ted Rosbeck of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Alana Sistine Rosbeck, born on Oct. 7, 2010, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Alana weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces at birth.

Announcing Helena
Renata Goncalves and Gilmar Goncalves Barbosa of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Helena da Silva Goncalves, born on Sept. 28 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Helena weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces at birth, and joins sister Taynara and brother Lucas.
