Hello, Samuel
Kristen and John Weber of Jefferson City, Mo., announce the birth of a son, Samuel James Weber, on July 9. Samuel weighed 8 pounds at birth. His grandmother, Mary Ann Brock, lives in West Tisbury. Samuel also is welcomed by brothers Sean and Jackson, and sisters Christina, Sarah and Katelyn.

Jennifer Porter Guadagno and Joseph Guadagno of Concord, N.H., announce the birth of a daughter, Marcella Isla Porter Guadagno, on July 4 at the Martha’s Vineyard Community Hospital. Marcella weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces at birth.
Wins Literary Award
Kelly Easton of Chilmark has won the Asian Pacific American Literature Award for her book Hiroshima Dreams. The book, set in Providence, was also the recipient of the ASTAL Rhode Island Middle School Book of the Year, and is a New York Public Library Book for the teen age group.
