Food Distribution

Bethany Pennington takes top honors as valedictorian of the class of 2009. The daughter of Mitchell and Holly Pennington of West Tisbury, she will attend Wheaton College in Norton.

Haley James Koorse is salutatorian for the class of 2009. The daughter of Steven and Suzanne Koorse of Edgartown, she will attend the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.

Receives Degree

Galen Leigh Brew of Vineyard Haven received a bachelor of arts degree in English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Associate Degrees

Doctor Awarded

Edward Sternick, Ph.D., a resident of Vineyard Haven and Charlestown, medical physicist-in-chief in radiation oncology at Rhode Island Hospital located in Providence, R.I., has been appointed to the 2009 board of examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, by the Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Wheelock Graduate

Kaitlyn L. Maciel of West Tisbury graduated from Wheelock College in Boston on May 15 with a bachelor of arts degree.
