Heidi Savage Blau and J.B. Scott Blau of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a son, Chandler Savage Blau, born on June 26, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Chandler weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces at birth.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has two beautiful cats who need homes: Star, a two-plus-year-old spayed female calico who has had all her shots; and Luna, a long-haired lovely black and white three-year-old female, who is also spayed and has had all her shots.

Dogs available for adoption are: Trent, the gentle giant great Dane; a neutered male Rhodesian ridgeback boxer cross, two years old; and Sophie, a five-year-old springer spaniel cross. All dogs are neutered and up to date on their shots.

Christopher Brennan Francis Post of West Tisbury was among 418 members of the class of 2009 to earn degrees from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., on May 16. Mr. Post graduated with a bachelor of arts in psychobiology.
