Free Holiday Rooms

The Holiday Inn in Falmouth will be offering free rooms during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for families with relatives who are hospitalized at the Falmouth Hospital.

The complimentary guest rooms will be available from Wednesday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Dec. 22th through Saturday, Dec. 26.

Falmouth Academy

Jonathan and Jill Bernstein and their daughter, Jenna, will host a reception for Islanders interested in Falmouth Academy at their home on Capawock Road in West Tisbury on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Falmouth Academy is a small, academically rigorous, college-preparatory day school for students in grades 7 to 12. The school offers transportation to and from the Woods Hole ferry terminal. Currently, 18 Vineyard students attend.

Grants Awarded

Trustee Andrea Taylor

Andrea L. Taylor, director of North America community affairs for Microsoft Corporation, a former United Nations delegate and longtime summer resident of Oak Bluffs, has been named a trustee of Boston University.

Peace Council Meets

The Martha’s Vineyard Peace Council will meet on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Church in Vineyard Haven. Author David Swanson will visit on Nov. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Tisbury Senior Center, where he will discuss and sign his new book, The Imperial Presidency, about war era presidents.
