Celebrations
Community Suppers
Members of the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury invite everyone to join the weekly community suppers, every Wednesday from now until the end of March. Dinner is provided by the church, and it is served promptly at 5:30 p.m. Donations of side dishes are welcome.
Please Adopt Us
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has three dogs and four cats available for adoption. The dogs include Vito and Louie, the gentle beagles who need some training but will make good pets or hunters with some work. The other dog is P.J., a very gentle, good-natured female pit bull. Don’t let the fact that she is a pit bull deter you from coming to see her; she is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever had at the shelter and she loves people.
Young Poets Prize
Island literary figures are seeking poetry for a new award which will recognize up to five Promising Young Poets.
Short manuscripts of three to five poems will be read by a distinguished panel of poets. The results will be announced in April, national poetry month.
