Dean’s List
Ryann Emin of Chilmark, the daughter of Wanda and Keith Emin, has been named to the Bridgewater State College dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. She is studying early childhood education.

Gretta and Ellie Hehre, daughters of Nancy Hehre and the late Fred Hehre 3rd of Vineyard Haven, were both named to the fall 2009 semester dean’s list at the University of Connecticut.
Conservation Funds
The Edey Foundation, founded by the late Maitland Edey of Seven Gates Farm, has funds available for grants to Island nonprofit organizations.
The foundation provides money for conservation and environmental programs on Martha's Vineyard. Submissions that relate to ongoing conservation, energy, education and scientific studies are welcome. Construction or building projects are ineligible.
Farm Offer Aids Haiti
Islanders can support Haiti relief efforts by buying locally-grown produce today: Whippoorwill Farm will offer the public produce from its fields and greenhouse, with 25 per cent of the proceeds donated to the earthquake relief effort in Haiti. Pickup is today only, Friday, Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The share will include a large bag of salad greens, cabbage, onions, potatoes, carrots, turnips, rutabaga and leeks. Cost is $20, paid at the farm; preregistration is not required, and it is open to all.
Isaac Arrives
Pollyanna M. Silveira and Reginaldo A. Da Silveira announce the birth of a son, Isaac M. Da Silveira, on Dec. 28 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Isaac weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces at birth.
Introducing Cyrus
Chelsea Pennebaker and Ali Hedin of West Tisbury announce the birth of a son, Cyrus Pennebaker Hedin, born on Jan. 22, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Cyrus weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces at birth.
