Announcing Mylee
Lindsey BenDavid and Tad Medeiros of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Mylee Elizabeth Medeiros, born on Sept. 9 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Mylee weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces at birth. Mylee is sister to Landon Medeiros and Joshua Brown.
Amherst Awards Degrees
The following students from the Vineyard received undergraduate degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst this spring in commencement ceremonies held May 24 at the Warren P. Welcome, Owen
Erin M.R. Tilton and Matthew McLean of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a son, Owen Louis McLean, born on Sept. 2, 2008, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Owen weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces at birth.
The Cape Cod Foundation is seeking proposals from nonprofit organizations for the fall 2008 general grants program, the second of two grant-making cycles this year, to support projects addressing the region’s existing and emerging needs.
Approximately $33,000 will be dispersed to address a broad range of needs in the areas of health, human services, the environment, education, the arts and community development. The deadline for submission is Oct. 1, 2008.

Art DeLorenzo of Vineyard Haven received the Castleton State College alumni association’s outstanding alumni award at the college’s convocation ceremony, August 28.
Mr. DeLorenzo was recognized for his strong support of Castleton, including his work on the Alumni Association Board as a member and a past president and his contributions to the college’s emerging leaders program. He mentored a group of more than 15 students over the course of four years, concluding in his keynote address at the 2005 commencement.
Hartwick College Graduate
Emily Franklin of Vineyard Haven, daughter of Penny and Gavin Franklin, has graduated from Hartwick College with a bachelor of arts degree in management.
At Hartwick, she participated in Phi Sigma Phi and women’s varsity field hockey.
