Housing Rehab Funds
Housing Rehab Funds for critical home repairs and energy saving updates are available to Oak Bluffs and Tisbury property owners. Learn more at an information session Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 6:30 pm in the Oak Bluffs Library. Sponsored by the Oak Bluffs Energy Committee, you will learn about deferred forgivable loans for projects such as roof replacements, new siding, and code violation corrections. Housing Manager
Sandra Barberio Webster has been appointed site manager at Hillside Village, a unit of Island Elderly Housing, executive director Ann Wallace announced.
Sandra, a longtime visitor to the Island, moved here permanently a few years ago to join her mother and son. Much of her career was spent in the food industry in a variety of managerial positions.
Announcing Aerowyn
Vanessa and Alan Fink of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Aerowyn Neveah, born on Oct. 28, 2008, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Aerowyn weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces at birth. She was welcomed by big brothers Ethan, 6, and Ryan, 2.

Lilian DeSouza Silveira and Ricardo Silveira Machado of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a daughter, Melissa DeSouza Silveira, born on Oct. 31, 2008, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Melissa weighed 6 pounds, 7.2 ounces at birth.
Safe Rides Begins
This year’s Safe Rides program will begin this weekend. The student-run program offers free rides to Island teenagers on Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The program will continue until May. The Safe Rides phone number is 508-939-9100.
Mature Workers
The Mature Workers Program of Elder Services and the Islands, Inc. offers a bridge back to work program for anyone 55 or older, on limited income, who wants to get back to work.
