Celebrations
The Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard is actively searching for qualified candidates to attend this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference, which will be held from May 8 to May 10, 2009 at the Cape Cod Sea Camps in Brewster.
The conference will offer outstanding high school juniors an opportunity to live, work and interact together in an atmosphere of cooperation and friendly competition. The program is designed to challenge participants to use and improve their skills and accept the responsibilities of leadership.
Great Job, Brianna
Brianna L. Sylvia of West Tisbury, an accounting major at Western New England College, has been selected for inclusion in this years edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Ms. Sylvia is one of 33 students from Western New England College who have been selected as outstanding campus leaders. The college included Ms. Sylvia based on academic achievement, service to the community and potential for continued success.

Laura and Daniel Townes of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Ava Spencer Townes, born on Nov. 28, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Ava weighed seven pounds, ten ounces.
Welcome, Ethan
Jennifer and Stephen Knight of West Tisbury announce the birth of a son, Ethan Henry Knight, born on Nov. 27, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Ethan weighed five pounds, fifteen ounces at birth.

Daniela and Walter Pinto of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a son, Kevin Pacheco Pinto, born on Nov. 27, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Kevin weighed seven pounds, four ounces at birth.
Welcome Eva
Janelle and Gilmar Coelho of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Eva Julianna Coelho, born on Nov. 20 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Eva weighed eight pounds at birth and joins big sister Elayna.
