Martha’s Vineyard Rod & Gun Club opens its annual Fall Shotgun Shoot to the public on Sunday, Nov. 30. Everyone is eligible for prizes in this marksmanship competition the day before the shotgun deer season opens.

Rebecca and Charles Esposito of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a son, Adagio Esposito, born on Nov. 14, 2008, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Adagio weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces at birth.

Kelly Silva Boccia and Jason Boccia of Milford announce the birth of their daughter, Chloe Emma Boccia. Chloe was born on Nov. 9 at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham and weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces. Island grandparents are the late John B. Silva of Chappaquiddick and John A. and Kathleen A. Benoit of Edgartown and Breaux Bridge, La.
Hello, Lily
Ellie and Steven Wise of New York announce the birth of a daughter, Lily Wise, born on Oct. 26 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York city. Lily weighed 8 pounds at birth. Lily joins her sister Anna and brother Henry.
Ellie Wise is the daughter of David and Molly Finkelstein of West Tisbury.
Morgan Woods affordable housing development in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard has won the 2008 Urban Land Institute’s J. Ronald Terwilliger Workforce Housing Models of Excellence Award.
The award recognizes exemplary developments that meet workforce housing needs in high cost communities. Entries are judged on specific criteria including: extent of affordability, involvement of public/private partnership, energy cost savings, green construction and innovative building technologies that reduce cost and improve efficiency.
The Cape Light Compact will be hosting a series of public information hearings to discuss a proposed 2009 energy efficiency plan on Monday, Nov. 20 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Library. There will be a presentation about the plan followed by an informal question and answer session.
