John Wadleigh, son of Kimberly Morris-Wadleigh and Ralph Wadleigh of Vineyard Haven, graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

Welcome Wyatt

Laurie and Wagner Pereira of Tisbury announce the birth of a son, Wyatt Ronan Pereira, born on Sept. 26, 2011, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Wyatt weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces at birth.

Hello Hollis

Erin and Zeb Tilton of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a son, Hollis Alden Tilton, born on Sept. 22, 2011, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Hollis weighed 6 pounds, 13.5 ounces at birth. He is welcomed by his brother, Wyatt Tilton.

Chamber Awards

Now that the Emmys are over, it’s time for the Martha’s. The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce will hold its third annual business awards, called Martha’s, on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Lambert’s Cove Inn in West Tisbury.

There will be refreshments and door prizes, and all are welcome to see members announce the winners of the Martha’s and present the special awards. RSVP is required; call Ken Goldberg, at 508-693-0085, extension 10, or e-mail [email protected].

Parenting, as any parent or anyone who has spent more than a few minutes with young children knows, can be difficult, lonely, confusing, exhausting and expensive. It can be wonderful too, but who needs help during those moments. It is during the tough times when parents need somewhere to turn, especially a place that doesn’t cost any additional money.
