Dwight K. Kaeka Jr. of West Tisbury was named to the dean’s list at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire for the spring 2011 semester. He is the son of Beth and Dwight Kaeka.

Dean’s List

Jacqueline Panek of Vineyard Haven was placed on the dean’s high honors list for the spring semester at Nichols College.

Three men were rescued from the water south of the Vineyard Saturday after their 20-foot pleasure craft began taking on water and sank, the Coast Guard said.

Pancake Breakfast

The Martha’s Vineyard Rotary Club is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a pancake breakfast on Sunday, August 7, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Okay, a pancake breakfast and lunch.

The eating takes place at The Anchors, across from the Memorial Wharf in Edgartown. The cost is $8 for adults, and $4 for kids.

By the way, it’s all-you-can-eat pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee, so start fasting now to take full advantage.

Edgartown House Tour

The Edgartown House Tour, sponsored by the Federated Church, is on Tuesday, August 9. Lunch will be served on the lawn at 75 South Water street from noon until 1:30 p.m. Then historian Mary Jane Carpenter will speak about the homes which are included on the tour, at 1:30 p.m. in the church at the corner of Cooke and South Summer streets. Four houses, all within three blocks of the church, are open from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Tea and homemade cookies will be served all afternoon on the parsonage lawn.
