A postseason run that began in thrilling fashion earlier this week ended with a heartbreaker Wednesday evening as the undefeated Vineyard boys’ soccer team fell 2-1 to Medway in sudden death overtime at the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association division three south sectional semifinals. The beautiful game is also a merciless one.

The streak is alive for the Martha's Vineyard varsity boys' soccer team.

For many boaters the writing was already on the wall, but now it’s official. The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, office of nautical charts, announced last week it is moving out of the chart printing business. Next April the Maryland government facility that prints them will close.

The NOAA Office of Coastal Survey Marine Chart Division will continue to keep all its waterway information up to date using high-tech measures involving survey work, and charts will be electronically accessible for free in a number of ways.

Game time is 4:30 p.m. under the lights at the regional high school field.

The boys ended their regular season with a 15-0-2 record and a perfect 8-0 Eastern Athletic Conference record. They are seeded number one in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association division three south section tournament.

In the final home game of the season, the regional high school team fell 22-8 to Norwell on Friday night.
