Classic movie buffs have plenty to love about the Vineyard in winter. Nearly every night of the week either a library or the playhouse offers a free movie.

In honor of Black History Month on Saturday, Feb. 7, the League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard will host guest speaker Clennon L. King.

The Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse winds up December’s Monday night at the movies with the classic 1972 The Poseidon Adventure.

Tis the season to show the 1946 classic holiday film It’s a Wonderful Life. This family-friendly film debuts at the film center on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in tribute to the late Jonathan Revere of West Tisbury.

On Sunday, Oct. 26, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center will host a reception for the latest multimedia show by Susan Klein and Alan Brigish.
