The annual Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival, now gearing up for its ninth run, is from Tuesday, Sept. 2, through Sunday, Sept. 7.

The classic French restaurant that has been a Main street fixture in Vineyard Haven for 37 years, will come under new ownership this fall. Susan and Stephen Bowen, who own the Waterside Market and Blue Canoe Grill, are the new owners. A closing is planned for Nov. 28.

A sergeant with the Oak Bluffs police department will take on a new role this year as the school resource officer at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

A breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage and fruit was "on the fire house" Sunday morning.

Heather and Vincent Maciel were high school sweethearts, raised two kids and currently run a tree service and landscaping company in West Tisbury. They're also lumberjacks who compete in the fair circuit around New England. Look for them this weekend at the fair.

Bases loaded, bottom of the ninth, two outs, one ball, two strikes. At this point, it could be anyone’s game. Little League bragging rights are on the line.
