I’m a creature of habit. I always start this column with a comment about the week’s weather.
The low humidity on Monday and Tuesday made me actually like summer. As an update on last week’s column, I saw a few more wonderful trumpet vines.
Because my hometown was located at the top of a mountain, we never experienced floods. The “big city” of Bradford, Pa. was down in the valley.
I write on Tuesday evening for the Wednesday morning pick-up. I hope the weather forecasters are right that we are due for a cold front. We are so hot and miserable and by me I’m including my poor garden.
It seems on Monday that we had a mini reprieve from the humidity. It was still quite warm but bearable for outdoor work. I’ll never figure out how folks can jog at noon with no hat on the hot bike paths.
I could never live in Florida or Arizona. I prefer cold weather any day. A person can always put on an extra layer of clothing or toss another log in the fire.
