We were spoiled by a week of cool dry weather that everyone enjoyed. Then Mother Nature turned it around and gave us back the heat and humidity reminding us it is still August, and she is still in charge.

Warm weather during the day, nice breeze, cool at night, windows open — the weather is perfect.

Warm days and cool nights, what a great combination. The wind has been a little strong here and there, but it is a great cooling factor during the day.

As I sit on the deck while writing this column, I am considering putting on a long sleeve shirt.

We had a few days of relief now back into the heat and humidity, and as I write this the Fourth of July looks like it is going to be a beautiful day.

If this week’s heat wave is the only one we have I will not be sad. Water was the mainstay of the week — drinking it or dunking your head under the hose and watering the plants.
