Letters to the Editor
On Friday, the Gazette published a very well thought-out opinion entitled Tick Sprays Kill More Than Ticks written by Jeremy Houser of the Vineyard Conservation Society.
The Dukes County Commission appoints the Island’s representative to the Steamship Authority Board of Governors.
I recently read a (no longer) friend’s Facebook post, a meme which said roughly: “Last year immigrants sent X amount of money to their home countries while their children received free education, school lunch and free health care.”
Indivisible Martha’s Vineyard, a local pro-democracy group, was criticized for participating in the Edgartown Fourth of July parade in a July 10 letter to the Gazette by Mark McGreenery.
Now that July Fourth has passed and the Island summer is in full swing, I feel compelled to express gratitude for all public-facing employees working on the Vineyard.
By removing all predators decades ago (bears, wolves, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, fishers, etc.) we changed the natural balance of the Island.
