Letters to the Editor
HONEST REPORTING
Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
HAITIAN RELIEF
Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
On behalf of the Haitian people, I’d like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Vineyard Gazette, especially to Julia Wells and her staff, namely Peter Brannen, Cooper Davis and Mark Lovewell, whom I had a chance to meet.
TOWERING TURBINES
Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
My partner, Jay, and I purchased a home on the Vineyard nearly six years ago. I don’t think we’ll ever forget the words of the listing agent, Rob Kendall, when he first showed us our house. He stood on our deck in the yard and looking out over the valley below and the vast ridge beyond, he raised his arms and beamed: “Welcome to the Chilmark Alps.”
MOVING ON
Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
The election is now over. Thankfully, the ridiculous television commercials will no longer play on every channel twice an hour as they were these last few days. Phew. To both Democrats and Republicans, I say this:
VOTE TUESDAY
Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
On the last day of President Obama’s first year in office, the voters of Massachusetts have the opportunity to elect our first female senator. Attorney General Martha Coakley is the Democratic candidate to complete the term of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy and continue his ideals.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
I own Eco MV, a company I started because I felt the need to give something back to a community that had given me so much.
