Care to Parade?
The 30th annual Edgartown Christmas parade is less than a month away on Saturday, Dec. 10, and the planning committee is already hard at work. Class of 1981 Reunion
The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 1981 will celebrate its 30th reunion on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the P.A. Club in Oak Bluffs. All classmates, teachers and friends are invited to attend, and are asked to bring an appetizer or plate of finger food to share. A cash bar will be available. To RSVP, contact Tricia McCarthy Bennane at [email protected].
Lending a Hand
The Family to Family Program of Serving Hands Food Distribution is working to ensure that Island families in need will have a great Thanksgiving meal. Islanders who can are asked to sponsor one of the families by contributing the cost of one family’s meal, $25. Last Thanksgiving the program provided more than 170 meals.
School Book Fair
The Tisbury school library is getting set to hold its annual book fair beginning Nov. 28 and running through Dec. 1.
The theme of the fair this year is The Book Fair And Beyond! Books will be available for all ages, including adults. It is the perfect opportunity for everyone to add to their libraries and give the gift of reading.
Funds from the book fair help purchase print, audio and video resources that support the curriculum frameworks of the library and augment the reading interests of students.
Craps for Kids
Gambling can be good for you, and good for the kids. Shocking words but true this Friday, Nov. 18, when the Edgartown Yacht Club hosts its annual casino night to benefit the Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
Admission is a $10 donation at the door. Once inside, it’s anybody’s guess how much cash you lay down, but the more you lose, the more the kids gain. How’s that for some good odds?
