Celebrations
The Martha’s Vineyard Airport in association with responders from the Island’s police, fire, emergency medical service and other service providers will be conducting an exercise of the airport’s emergency response plan between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, at the airport.
This exercise is a requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration and is conducted once every three years to assist in the emergency response preparedness.

Daniela and Erlande Diniz of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Lethicia Malagoli Diniz, born on March 4, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Lethicia weighed 9 pounds, 0.8 ounces at birth.

Meg and Jay Bodnar of Aquinnah announce the birth of a daughter, Malia Austin Bodnar, born on March 3, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Malia weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces at birth.

Hannah M. Ingalls-McGlynn, of Edgartown, has been named to the Dean’s List at Boston University for the Fall semester.
The Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School is hosting an enrollment open house on Wednesday, March 11 — it’s 5:30 p.m. to visit the kindergarten, and 6:30 for grades one to twelve. All are welcome to tour the school and learn about its academic program and warm community atmosphere.
Applications for next school year are due on March 13. This free public school takes students from across the Island through a lottery for student places available for each town. The lottery is on March 16.
Kindergarten Registration
Tisbury parents of a children who will be five years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2009, are asked to register their child for kindergarten. Call Barbara Armstrong at 508-696-6500 between now and April 3 to request a pre-registration packet and to set up a registration appointment. Registration will be on Thursday, April 16.
