There is good news at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard: all five of the adorable kittens that were up for adoption last week have found homes, and the beautiful young orange tiger that was brought in as a stray a couple of weeks ago has found his owner who was so happy to be reunited with her pet.
Dean’s List
Emily Reich, daughter of Bill Reich and Kathleen Cowley of Oak Bluffs, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester 2010 at old Dominion University in Virgina. She is a tourism and recreation major in the college of education and is an athlete on the Monarch’s national ranked sailing team.
Welcome Camden
Trina Brown and David Welch of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Camden Elaine Welch, born on August 1, 2010, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Camden weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces at birth.
Hello Chloe
Heidi and Peter Cook of Edgartown announce the birth of a daughter, Chloe Jane Cook, born on July 30, 2010, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Chloe weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces at birth. She is welcomed by big brother Kenny.
Fair Entries Ready?
The Agricultural Hall will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon beginning Monday, August 2 to accept entry forms for the 2010 fair. Also, members of the community who would like to volunteer or work at the fair may come to sign up to do so during these hours.
Fair books will be available at the Ag Hall.
