A Vineyard Haven store that caters to the Island Brazilian community is getting a makeover.
But for the people behind the cameras and the scenes at the Island’s only public access television station, huge change is in the offing as the station prepares to move to a new facility that is nearly complete off the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road.
Edgartown selectmen Monday turned down 11 North restaurant’s proposal to make the restaurant wheelchair accessible, with selectmen and town officials saying they didn’t like the plan to use town property for a wheelchair ramp and chastising the restaurant for not dealing with the issue earlier.
The Sweet Life Cafe in Oak Bluffs, famed for its traditional fine dining amid strung garden lights, and a favorite of vacationing President Barack Obama, will have new owners this season.
Kevin and Suzanna Crowell, owners of Détente Restaurant in Edgartown, have purchased the business.
