Fernando A. Jesurum, 27, was sentenced to three years at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution Cedar Junction, a maximum security prison in Walpole, and ordered to serve two years of probation after prison. The case dates to 2013 and involved a drug task force investigation.

Police are emphasizing the seriousness of heroin use and overdoses on the Island.
