The Steamship Authority is considering increases to parking and freight fares for the Martha’s Vineyard route to offset a projected rise in the cost of service. The SSA management proposed that the additional revenue should come from rate increases on the Martha’s Vineyard route.

The Warren House, a town-owned North Water street mansion that has recently fallen into a state of disrepair, at last has a new owner.= The Edgartown selectmen Monday accepted a $2.5 million bid for the house from Chestnut Hill resident Jeffrey Wolk.

With Katama Bay closed for business because of Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Vp), Edgartown oyster farmers Tuesday pressed for a speedy resolution to an investigation and testing regimen under way before a delegation of high-ranking state officials Tuesday.

At a shellfish committee meeting that day, farmers discussed sticking together and going to extra lengths to guard against future closures.
