Barbara (Bobbie) Nevin Dies at Age 79; She Was Realtor and Towering Island Figure

Flags all across Edgartown - at Memorial Wharf, the county courthouse, Memorial Park and the American Legion Post 186 - flew at half-staff this week to mourn Barbara B. Nevin, a leading citizen of the town, who died unexpectedly on Friday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. Mrs. Nevin was 79 and the widow of Dr. Robert W. Nevin.

Abe had a monomaniacal fear and loathing of Richard Moby, the CEO of an off-Island wholesale nursery, who unscrupulously took over one Island landscaping business and undercut five others, provoking Abe to try to “destroy” Moby. To complicate matters, Moby was engaged to Abe’s ex-wife, Gwen.

M ow Crew will screen tomorrow at the Capawock, following its trium phant premiere at the Boston Independent Film Festival in late April. This semi-autobiographical romantic comedy about life on the Vineyard was written and directed by a Vineyard native ... and you can tell. In all the best ways.

Last spring, the Gazette wrote about Oak Bluffs native Taylor Toole, 30, and his crew as they were about to hold auditions for Island actors, who comprise all but the four lead roles. Since then, the Mow Crew project has sprouted.
