At 2 p.m. Tuesday Melinda Loberg’s cherry red Jeep was the first vehicle to cross the new Lagoon Pond Bridge. Ms. Loberg honked her horn and her passengers Mark London and Scott Tuttle waved out the windows as the drawbridge officially opened to vehicular traffic.

A team from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School is one of five state finalists in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. Approximately 4,100 teams entered nationwide, and five finalists were chosen from each state and Washington D.C.

It was a bustling scene at the parish house behind First Baptist Church on Friday afternoon as volunteers organized and packaged Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Serving Hands provides monthly food distribution and on holidays the Family to Family program joins in to add holiday meals to the distribution.
