Getting Strong Now, WVVY Punches Up the Wattage
The motto of WVVY radio used to be “You Never Know What You’re Going to Hear Next.” And now, following the station’s recent signal boost, you may even be able to hear whatever’s next in Falmouth.
Supporters of the Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation gathered Monday night at the Borggaard farm in West Tisbury for a gala to benefit the foundation's general fund and the organization's mission to preserve and manage natural habitats on the Island. The event raised more than $320,000.
Family, friends, and admirers of the late Norman Bridwell, who died in December, gathered at the Federated Church Monday for a memorial service honoring the longtime Edgartown resident and author and illustrator well-known for the Clifford the Big Red dog series.
“It’s not easy to find comic dance,” acknowledged David White, the artistic director of The Yard. Nevertheless, Mr. White has worked hard to put together a wide collection of acts for the Women Dance the Comic series at The Yard running until July 25.
