In Vineyard Skies
Tonight the crescent moon appears above the bright planet Venus. The two are in the western sky. This weekend the moon will appear to move slowly away from Venus.
There is a slight chance some viewers may see Comet Ison in the early morning sky the next couple of mornings.
Is it a plane? No, Just Venus
A full moon on Sunday will dominate the sky through the weekend. This is a moon that is hard to ignore. Only a December full moon rises higher in our night sky.
A transformation in the night sky has taken place since summer, and the Milky Way has moved to a position where it is almost overhead.
There is a slight possibility Vineyarders can see a partial eclipse of the sun on Sunday morning at sunrise.
