Flamenco Dance
Flamenco dancing can enhance your flexibility, muscle and core strength, says Alicia Tineo Lazaro, a dance instructor from Valencia, Spain. She will offer beginner lessons to offer a full-bodied awakening to grace, power and creativity. Classes are $10 and begin Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Tisbury Senior Center. Russ Baker, The Muckraker
In a program called The Hidden History of the United States, author and journalist Russ Baker will discuss his new book — Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty, the powerful forces that put it in the White House and what their influence means for America — on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Vineyard Haven Public Library
Mr. Baker contends that the national security establishment behind the Bushes rise continues to maintain a grip on the Obama administration.

One of my favorite booths at the West Tisbury Artisans’ Fair is that of poet Daniel Waters. It is a wellspring of words! And not just any words, but the crisp, intuitive, fun-filled wordplay of Mr. Waters’ short poems, many of which are displayed on his distinctive hand-carved blockprint greeting cards.
