Enjoy the fruits of their labors, not to mention the vegetables and beef too.

It’s the grand opening celebration of Morning Glory Farm’s new farmstand.

If you’ve watched the construction you know this ain’t your grandmama’s farm stand no more.

The fun starts on Saturday at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.

There will be hayrides, farm tours, book signings, pony rides, and of course, food. The grill will be smoking with Island-grown beef burgers, plus soup and salad made with fresh picked veggies.

Can you handle the heat? Roscoe Tanner brings his 153-mile-an-hour serve to the Vineyard Youth Tennis center on Tuesday, June 29. At the 1978 U.S. Open, his serve actually broke the net. But don’t worry, he’s not looking to ace you. Tanner, once ranked fourth in the world, will be holding clinics all day long. High schoolers are from 9 to 10:30 a.m, adult women from 1 to 3 p.m., and men from 2 to 5 p.m.

Twelve Hundred dollars and a week of professional wall time was the award for three Island high school seniors who won the Martha’s Vineyard Arts Association scholarship given by the Old Sculpin Gallery. It is hard to know which is better: invaluable experience, or valuable resources.

This year the winners of the scholarship were Lonni Phillips, Naomi Scott and Maggie Howard.

On Sunday, there was an opening reception for this annual showing of the recipients of the scholarship; their exhibit runs until June 26.
