Sue Mullin Returns to Form For seasonal West Tisbury resident Sue Mullin, creating art has been a collaborative project. After a long hiatus, she took up painting once again at workshops with Bill Ternes on the Vineyard through artist Hermine Hull. Artist and friend Leslie Baker helped Ms. Mullin forge a new wave of artistic vision, sharing special painting spots and offering encouragement. Now, Ms. Mullin’s work will be available for the public to enjoy, free of charge, for the month of July at the West Tisbury Library.

Geometry meets fantasy in the recent paintings by artist Lanny McDowell, a resident of Martha’s Vineyard since 1970. He invites viewers to wonder what the world looks like through emotion and creativity, rather than through the plodding intellectualism of human eyes.

Ultimate Frisbee

With the summer Olympics approaching, one might be aiming for a sedentary approach to sport. Watch, watch and watch some more the best athletes in the word perform. But hopefully, all that sport will inspire a pro-active approach.

The Vineyard offers ample opportunity to run, jump, hit, swing or swim. This summer, frisbee fans need not look glum, either.
