After what seemed like endless heat and humidity, we finally got some relief. Monday and Tuesday, while still painfully dry, gave us lovely cool nights and days with a reasonable 70-degree temperature.

I wonder when or if we will ever see rain again. I’m so sad for the poor plants, especially the annuals.

The beginning of the week’s cloudy skies were a relief from unrelenting sun. Then I found out there were no clouds, only smoke from Canadian wildfires. Yikes! That cannot be good.

The low humidity on Monday and Tuesday made me actually like summer. As an update on last week’s column, I saw a few more wonderful trumpet vines.

Because my hometown was located at the top of a mountain, we never experienced floods. The “big city” of Bradford, Pa. was down in the valley.
