The Vineyard community helped pave the way for local students by bestowing over $2 million in college scholarships and workforce tuition at its annual Class Night celebration.

Artwork co-created by Chilmark preschoolers and Colin Ruel were in high demand at a preschool fundraiser Thursday at the Ruel gallery in Menemsha.

The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School class of 2024 is filled with juxtapositions. It is an independent-minded class that can also come together as a group with kindness and grace.

For many students, activities, sports and clubs are a big part of their high school career. For Lyla Solway, the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Class of 2024 valedictorian, it was sailing.

Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School assistant principal Jeremy Light has been tapped to lead the Oak Bluffs School next year, taking over for retiring principal Megan Farrell. 

Faculty, friends and relatives gathered at the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School Sunday to celebrate the seven high school graduates of the class of 2024.
