Tuesday marked the last day of school and the first afternoon of summer vacation for most Island students. It was the end of something too for retiring Edgartown principal John Stevens.

The regional high school won the approval it needed Monday night to spend surplus money for end-of-the-year expenses — but there was no vote of confidence.
