Martha’s Vineyard has long been home to dignitaries and celebrities of every stripe — writers, artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, business leaders, politicians, even heads of state.

Nobody loves a tax, so the news that the property tax rate is going down next year in several Island towns is perhaps cause for small celebration.
