Island tourism officials analyzed the summer’s successes and discussed looming challenges at a conference hosted by the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce in Edgartown this week.

The Steamship Authority's top finance officials will be on the Island on Thursday to answer questions and hear comments from the public on the proposed $162 million budget, which includes fare hikes.

The approximately $50 million overhaul of the Martha’s Vineyard Airport terminal, which is being sought to enclose the departures area and give more space to federal security screeners, is scheduled to start on Oct. 20.
