Some males will do anything to impress the ladies.

Even though I heard the call last week, I knew in my heart that he wasn’t my type. Hey, he wasn’t even my species.

Woodcocks have returned to the Island and are looking for a partner. In truth, one isn’t necessarily enough, since male woodcocks mate with as many female woodcocks as possible. Monogamy is not the cup of tea for this species.

There is nothing like carefree youth. While driving near the Tisbury School, I saw a young boy with a broken foot on crutches riding happily on a skateboard. I laughed out loud — only because I wasn’t his mother.

Winter Walks Program Is

Set for North Tabor Farm

The Vineyard Conservation Society Winter Walks Program will feature a free guided walk at North Tabor Farm in Chilmark on Sunday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. The walk leaders will be Matthew Dix and Rebecca Miller, the family farmers who have been farming North Tabor Farm for the last fifteen years.

North Tabor Farm is located on North Road in Chilmark. Watch for VCS signs.
