Letters to the Editor
Since losing my dad, Ron Rappaport, unexpectedly in June, trips back to the Vineyard are both joyful and hard, full of love and full of grief.
I would like to thank the EMTs and rescue team who helped in my rescue at State Beach last Friday, Oct. 18. But above all I want to thank Robert (Bear) Harding, fellow kitesurfer/wing foiler/sailor who saved my life.

When our mother found 108 Center street in 1980 it reminded her of where she grew up, a quintessential New England village in rural Rhode Island.
I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible community that rallied around me when my boat, Wyknott, sank at the dock in Menemsha.
Kudos to Christine Todd, chair of the Dukes County Commission, for publicly speaking out on the deplorable situation at the Steamship Authority.
