Katrina Brown and David Welch of Edgartown announce the birth of a son, Declan Patrick Welch, born on Feb. 28, 2013 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Declan weighed 7 pounds, 8.3 ounces at birth.

Two Martha’s Vineyard students have been offered merit scholarships to offset the cost of their first-year tuition at the Falmouth Academy on Cape Cod. Sue Cranston of Vineyard Haven and Devin Waite of Edgartown were among four students to be offered $3,000 grants based on their scores on the academy’s annual scholarship exam.

Falmouth Academy serves students in grades seven through 12. Currently, 24 students from the Vineyard commute to Falmouth to attend the academy.

Cody Coutinho of Chilmark has been named to the dean’s list at Merrimack College for the fall 2012 semester.

Lizzy Kent and Spencer Binney of West Tisbury announce the birth of a daughter, Willow Frances Binney, born on Feb. 26, 2013 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Willow weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces at birth.

Cody Coutinho of Chilmark was named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at Merrimack College in North Andover.

Amy and Asil Cash of Chilmark announce the birth of a daughter, Harper Lisa DeLorme Cash, born on Feb. 15, 2013 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Harper weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces at birth.
