Revised Yellow House Plan Attracts Lone Bid
A sole applicant is in the running in Edgartown’s second search for someone to lease and renovate the Yellow House.
A criminal trial began this week in Dukes County superior court for a Vineyard Haven man facing rape charges. A jury of 12 women and three men is hearing the case.
The fate of historic buildings and spending proposals from a new town hall to fire trucks will be up for discussion at annual town meetings in Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and West Tisbury. All begin at 7 p.m.
The year-round brew pub that has long anchored the Oak Bluffs dining scene, has been placed on the market by owners Phillip and Colleen McAndrews. The asking price is $4.2 million.
Edgartown will finally decide whether to take ownership of the run-down Yellow House when voters gather for their annual town meeting Tuesday. A 69-item warrant also features a $34.6 million budget and a range of spending requests.
As Edgartown voters turn to business from funding for schools to harbor repairs next week at town meeting, they will also be asked to restore pieces of the past. One artifact in particular represents a long-ago act of charity.
