Men fixing the windsor knots in their ties and women still ripping tags from newly purchased clothes filled the tents on the Dr. Daniel Fisher House lawn to indulge in the food and drink of the Vineyard.

Selectmen in West Tisbury Fret as Legal Bills Begin to Mount

West Tisbury needs more money to pay its legal bills, and this week selectmen expressed growing concern over the amount of money being spent on attorneys' fees this year. At the regular board meeting Wednesday, executive secretary Jennifer Rand advised the selectmen that the town will not be able to cover its legal costs under the current year's budget.

The West Tisbury Farmers' Market opened Saturday morning under a gray sky. And while the number of vendors is down this year, shoppers making a trip to the Grange Hall grounds still came away with the best of the Vineyard's farms and fields, along with homemade jams, baked goods, fruits and herbs.

Tabernacle Is Stage for 195 Graduates at Regional High

Sunday was an afternoon for storytelling as the Class of 2005 was graduated from the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. With humor and sensitivity, students and school leaders drew on the past and looked to the future while the 195 graduates sat listening under the protective covering of the Tabernacle. The warm weather and blazing sun only added to the excitement.

Pomp and Circumstance: Regional High School Seniors Ready for Commencement Day

The members of the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School Class of 2005 stand on common ground in the last few days before graduation. But as the seniors reach for their diplomas Sunday, they will be marking the moment when everything changes. Many will spend the next few years earning degrees from colleges across the country; others are immediately joining the work force, while still others are unsure what the future holds.
