The Martha’s Vineyard Sharks made history Sunday night, winning a record-setting 19-inning game against the Nashua Silver Knights in Nashua, N.H.. The game is either the longest or tied for longest in Futures Collegiate Baseball League history.
The girls’ tennis team last week won their division of the MIAA sectional tournament. The team plays Lynnfield Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Lexington High School in the state seminfinals, rescheduled due to rain.
The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School’s class of 2015 is made up of artists, musicians, scientists, chefs, gardeners and scholar-athletes. Their graduation ceremony takes place on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs.
This weekend is the culmination of the annual three-week Bessie Schonberg residency program at The Yard in Chilmark, in which choreographers and dancers fully immerse themselves in their work. On Friday, June 12, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m., the results of the residency will be displayed on stage. Participating fellows include Chelsea & Magda, Amber Sloan and Raphael Xavier.
