This year’s Della Hardman Day celebration takes place on July 27 in Ocean Park, beginning at 4 p.m. Dr. Clarence B. Jones, a former colleague of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, will be the featured speaker.

A variety of perspectives will be showcased next week as Martha’s Vineyard Film Society hosts its 10th annual Documentary Week from July 29 to Aug. 2.

For nearly a century, the Holy Ghost Society has hosted a feast and a parade in Oak Bluffs. This year’s festivities take place once again at the Portuguese American Club, with the feast on Saturday and the parade Sunday.

The Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce announced this week that Erica Ashton would be taking over the executive director role. She said she's excited to enter a "new era" with the chamber.
