The poet and novelist whose grace, elegance and remarkable longevity spanned more than a century, died at her home overlooking Stonewall Pond.

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank broke its own record for fees last week, collecting more than $1 million in a single five-day period. Several large property sales contributed to the windfall, including a $22 million sale down harbor in Edgartown.

The Island-owned energy cooperative, along with a partner, was awarded a provisional lease to develop an offshore wind farm in federal waters off the Vineyard.

Flatbread, the popular wood-fired pizza franchise near the Martha’s Vineyard Airport that has hosted fundraisers, family dance parties and concerts, will not reopen this summer, owner Jay Gould has confirmed.

“The season is too short for us. We do very well in July and August, but it’s not enough,” Mr. Gould told the Gazette in an email early Tuesday.
